Justin Bieber Is Having The Best Week Ever New Billboard Record

Justin Bieber’s comeback has been nothing short of stellar. Over the past 48 hours, the Canadian pop star earned his sixth No. 1 album with Purpose, and closed the 2015 American Music Awards with a much-talked about performance. The 21-year-old has now made history on Billboard’s Hot 100 charts.

Bieber’s Purpose LP debuts with 17 of its 18 songs off the deluxe edition on Billboard’s Hot 100 charts, marking the most songs ever to debut on the charts in one week. The new mark surpasses the Beatles and Drake, who previously held the record at 14 each.

First setting the record at 14 in 1964 with their Beatlemania LP, the Beatles held the mark for more than 50 years until Drake tied the record twice this year. October’s Very Own totaled 14 Hot 100 concurrent hits twice in 2015 with his two No. 1 albums, If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late and What a Time to Be Alive with Future.

Justin Bieber also becomes the third artist ever (and only second solo act) to hold three of the Hot 100’s top five songs. “Sorry” moved up to No. 2 this week, with “Love Yourself” debuting at No. 4 and “What Do You Mean?” holding down No. 5. Only the Beatles and 50 Cent have previously accomplished that feat.
