LoLa Monroe is officially Taylored. The video vixen-turned-rapper has announced her signing to Wiz Khalifa’s Taylor Gang label.
“We got it in with Taylor Gang. We Taylored now,” the 25-year-old femcee told Greg Street on Atlanta’s V-103.
She explained why she decided to sign with the “Black and Yellow” rapper. “Wiz is like a positive free individual that’s about his business and that matches everything I’ve created on my side,” she said. “When he reached out, he was like, ‘I feel as though our movements represent the same thing, so I want you to rep Taylor Gang.’ And I agreed, so it’s only right. Plus, out of all the situations that came to me, my business instincts and just the comfort level, I felt it was just the right move with him. He’s a stand-up dude and it just felt right.”
LoLa, who was nominated for Best Female Hip-Hop Artist at this year’s BET Awards, is prepping her debut album and will drop a new single in November. “It’s gon’ be crazy.”
She is also working on two new mixtapes including Crown Ain’t Safe, hosted by DJ Ill Will.
It's no secret that Lil Wayne and Jay-Z have their differences, and the two have sent shots back and forth several times.
During an interview for the latest issue of Vibe, Weezy claims to have never even listened to Watch The Throne.
"I haven't heard the album," Wayne said. "I'll probably never hear the album."
(That's a tough feat to accomplish -- I hear "Otis" and "Ni**as in Paris" bumping from half the cars on my block.)
The Young Money king also came down hard on Nicki Minaj, saying she has yet to live up to her potential.
"I'm not satisfied with anything she's done," Wezzy says. "I believe she can do a whole lot more, and I believe she will do a whole lot more. It's not shocking, and it's not surprising. It's quite fitting. But other than that, it's nowhere near the end."
Do you buy that Wayne has never given Watch The Throne a listen, or is he just saying that because of the beef with Jay?
A$AP Rocky’s got 3 million reasons to smile. In a recent interview with Pitchfork, he says that he signed with Polo Grounds after accepting a $3 million dollar deal. Money in the bank?
Pitchfork: A lot of rappers are moving away from big record deals and, as recently as last month, it seemed like you didn’t want to sign with a major, either. What changed your mind?
A$AP Rocky: About three million dollars. [Other rappers who don't sign] are smart, but I feel like Sony/RCA is a family and the people there actually care about me. When I came to meet [Polo Grounds Music founder] Bryan Leach, I got to know him on a personal level– he would set up car service for me to go to other labels. He wanted to see me make it. He’s from Harlem.
I’m going to have creative control; there’s no bullshit. The situation is almost unrealistic. I mean, five months ago I had about $3,000 in my bank account. Now I’m worth $3 million. Nobody’s gotten a deal like that since 50 Cent.

“When I was a kid trying to figure out what I liked, it was [Kanye] who I related to the most. He was an artist, in every sense, from his cover art to his music. Now, I would say he was a really great competitor….”
Ms Cat aka Cat Wash ing ton from Bad Girls Club 5 made a pit stop by Philly’s new Hot 107.9 recent ly for an inter view with radio host Q Deezy and spilled the tea on her relation ship with Drake. Accord ing to Ms. Cat, she met Drake on the set of the ‘Best I Ever Had’ video and she moved in with him months later. She dished on why she decid ed to leave Drake after a year and a half and she also revealed that Drake is work ing with some thing in the bed room. Peep the excerpt below.
On how she met Drake
We met on the set of “Best I Ever Had.” It was real cool! We sat on the bleach ers on set direct ed by Kanye [West]. Hav ing fun, tweet ed each other back and forth–real cool. Never thought it would go any where just cool, kick ing it. The next thing you know I’m in Toron to and we’re hav ing din ner.
He flew me out to Toron to and we start ed kick ing it and lik ing each other. One flight turned into ten then the next thing you know I got a tooth brush in there and it’s on.
How long did it take for you to get from just dat ing to a rela tion ship?
Like a month. It was like 0 to 60.
You moved to Toron to?
Yeah, I was actu al ly there and packed up and was like “I’m out….I’m in love.”
Did you meet his mom?
Yeah, she’s a very nice lady.
Did she know you like, “Oh, what’s your name again?” or she KNEW you?
Well, at first it was like that but then it was like, “Oh this hoe is still around, huh? Oh, she’s still here.” After a while it was like, “Hey, Mom!” I’m from Philly and I’m in Toron to now…that’s my boo.
How long did it take you to go from con dom to no con dom?
That’s assum ing there was ever one involved.
On if she was in love with Drake
Of course, it was an awe some rela tion ship. I was in love, he was in love and by the way in the song he said he was in love, so don’t try to switch it up now. I never men tioned you, you men tioned me. It was good. I’m talk ing fam i ly dinners and we in Whole Foods push ing the cart around. It was a reg u lar rela tionship. I was in love and he was in love but at the end of the day he start ed get ting a lit tle bit too loose. Mean ing he pops up in the tabloids with Mali ah, trips to Jamaica that I wasn’t invit ed to or never heard about. I’m from Philly and we don’t go for that.
It’s a prob lem [when] you had the kind of rela tion ship we had. That was my dude; it wasn’t some body I was just kick ing it with. If you were just kick ing it, you can do what you wanna do but I was yours and you were mine.
On if He gave her gifts
He’s a very kind-hearted indi vid ual. We trav eled a lot and we shopped so of course the price tag got a lit tle expen sive. A Car, bills paid..but we were together so it wasn’t like he was trick ing.
On if he’s well endowed
He is a phe nom e nal “peach eater” and he is black and Jew ish and the black side is Mandin go.
On why they broke up
Well, we broke up because I want ed to do the Bad Girls Club and that was a whole big issue too. I was like, “I have my own career and I need to move forward to and he was kind of like “I real ly don’t want you to go on there and embar rass me.” I was like, “Well, you know my career is my career. You know you’re Drake and you’re cool but I need to be cool too. I can’t sit around and try to get preg nant by you and be a baby mama. I need to make a career for myself.”
After they split, Drake wrote a verse about her on the Game’s track ‘Good Girl Gone Bad’.
This song reminds me of Cat from Philly
a girl I use to love till she start ed act ing silly
Her heart is a lil chilly she a lil too care free
in 10 years whose payin for all that ther a py …..n*gga not me.
Im prob a bly not the man you take me for
but I bet I could be if you make me yours
Most of the sh*t I say is true
when Im done with Bad Girls
i’m comin straight for you good girl
Audio: M.O.P preview new music produced by the SnowGoons listen here
In Late July 2011, Billy Danze took to Conspiracy Worldwide Radio to break the news that M.O.P.’s upcoming LP would be a collaborative effort with German & Danish production team, the Snowgoons. Speaking on the album, Danze said, “[Snowgoons] just sent us some fire…those dudes are incredible…when you hear this project, you’re going to be satisfied as an M.O.P. fan and a Snowgoons fan.” Ensuring fans around the world that this will be one of their most diverse sounding albums, the Mash Out Posse member went on to praise the Snowgoons, proclaiming, “they’ve got everything…they’re blazing through and coming from different angles. These guys providing us with that dramatic sound, with those theatrical sounds, with that hard hip-hop…they supplied us with everything. I’m really psyched about this project.” Further, listeners can prepare for what Danze and Lil’ Fame consider “their best project in 10 years".
I love to see hip hop expressed in new ways. Isis Kenney is a fine artist and wants to bring something unique to the entertainment industry. Her art collections include some of the great artists of our time like Biggie, Kanye west, Eminem and more. Isis uses print media collages to describe important periods in time such as the Rocafella records meltdown.
I'm looking forward to viewing her works in person. Official website here
So....Tyler Perry has made a surprising casting decision for his movie The Marriage Counselor, which is based on his play of the same name. He just signed on Kim Kardashian and her acting "skills" to co-star alongside Jurnee Smollett. Yes, we're serious.
According to Deadline Hollywood, Tyler P. just gave birthday girl Kim K. (she turned 31 today) a present she will of course love: Another chance to appear on the big screen and more opportunities to get publicity.
She previously appeared in the satirical movie Disaster Movie. And it's pretty clear Tyler went the publicity-over-actual-talent route this go round in order to have a built-in publicity horse and an additional expanded audience. Which means more cash. But will it work?
Here's what the plot of the movie is all about.
The film tells the story of Judith, an Ivy League-educated relationship expert who makes her living dispensing marital advice, but is so bored with her own marriage that she breaks her professional code and cheats with a smooth talking client only to realize she has made a huge mistake. Jurnee Smollett plays the marriage counselor and Kadashian will play Ava, a co-worker who gives Judith a big city makeover and new confidence as she struggles with her personal issues.
Newlywed Kim has also been involved all week in a slew of breakup rumors with her hubby of 2 weeks months Kris Humphries. But sources close to her are denying a split. Shooting begins October 26th in Atlanta. Kim confirmed tonight tweeting:
Big news!! I'm co-starring in Tyler Perry's new movie!
Will Tyler's new casting decision ostracize his current fanbase or make people question his image and motives...or will people love it? Your thoughts?

Kanye West announces Good Music Album with Def Jam. Hopefully we will also get a Pusha album. I think that's the only other artist I'm checking for over there. Not feeling Common but Big Sean is cool. Look for the Good Music album coming Spring 2012
Ok I always get asked this question because everyone wants to get big time hits on YouTube. It's very simple but the first thing I would like to say is purchase a good book on general marketing. Check this one here.
Now, there are a few rules to mega hits on YouTube. One of the most important things to remember is social networking is sharing relevant content, relevant meaning things people are interested in. They are not always interested in music videos unless they are of great quality. So basically share important information while you are promoting your video and people will be a little more interested. For example write an article about the funniest videos on YouTube and then tell people to check your video.
There are two components your video has to have in order for it to have great success on YouTube. One is your video has to be funny. Funny videos are always great to watch and people will share the funny videos with their friends. If you have a music video add a comedic side to the video and it will be more successful.
Two, your video should be shocking in some way. Usually videos that show guns or other types of violence are considered shocking and these videos usually get more views. For example, a friend of mine filmed a video where he kidnaps his girlfriend and puts her in the back of his trunk.
Try using one of these two components and you will definitely have more success online.
Ok that's enough for now, I will be back with more later.
